12 days Mekong Delta and Phu Quoc island Packages Saigon

Mekong Travel offers Authentic Mekong Delta Tour enabling travellers chance to experience the Mekong Delta further into local daily life. Our guide and driver will pick you up at 7h30 am (can be earlier or later to suit. Please contact us for further support) at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and drive 1 and a half up to 2 hours through rice fields and farm land to Mekong Delta of My Tho pier. On arrival in My Tho, you will take a boat ride a along the Mighty Mekong River to see daily life of locals along the River as well as on these islands of Dragon, Turtle, and Phoenix. You will have a chance to visit local activities of fish-breading floating houses, see process of making coconut candy from start to finish, and sample different types of hot coconut candies with flavor of chocolate, panda leave, peanut, and plain ones. You will then boat to Ben Tre island to learn how locals keep bee for honey, and have break with honey tea.

At noon, you will have lunch break with local specialties, and laze on hammock under the shady trees. After lunch break, you will have a rowing boat ride along the water palm tree to experience real local life along the waterways, and pay a visit to Mr Ba for local music performance while have fruits. Boat back to the pier, and have a vehicle drive to Cai Be for 1, 5 hours. You will check in bungalow near the Mekong River in Cai Be or Vinh Long, and have a break. Walk along on the island and see the authentic Mekong Delta.

Have dinner and stay overnight in the bungalow with peaceful night time sounds.

Day 2: Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho (Breakfast, and lunch)

After wake up with sweet songs from creatures, and have breakfast. We will go on a boat ride to see the Cai Be market, a traditional house built in 18 century with great house design in the feudal society. Next you will boat to the local work shop of candy making experience process from start to finish and sample different of them. Cycle along on the island to experience the orchard , fruit plantation and local life on the island of Tan Phong.

You will then go on a boat ride to the island through small canals to experience the charms of the Upper Mekong Delta. Visit a family business to see how locals make coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn. Keep boating to the other island to visit the traditional house dating 18 century, and have lunch break with local fresh specialties. Take a walk around peaceful fruit garden or cycle along on the island to experience the orchid, fruit plantation and local life on the island of Tan Phong.

Our a/c vehicle transfer to Can Tho. You will arrive in Can Tho City at an estimated time of arrival at 4pm. Check in into hotel in Can Tho. Have a break and walk along the Ninh Kieu warf, and visit Can Tho market. Have dinner and stay overnight in Can Tho.

Day 3: Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating market – Chau Doc (breakfast, and lunch)

After breakfast, you will take a boat ride along The Mighty Mekong River up to the one of the busiest Cai Rang whole sales floating market to experience real River Life of locals in the region to observe the locals buying, selling, bargaining and exchanging goods among their boats. Why not practice your bargaining skills here! Experience the tranquility of life in rural areas, the Monkey bridge (if tide permit) and rice noodle making.

We will back to the pier and car drive to Chau Doc with local lunch break and visit the crocodile farm

Check in the Victoria Hotel Chau Doc and free at leisure at the late afternoon.

Day 4: Chau Doc – Rach Gia (Breakfast, Lunch)
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will then transfer to visit Tra Su Cajuput Forest in Tinh Bien district, locating 15 km northeast of the Mekong River and 10km northwest of the Cambodia border.
We will take a sampan to small canals to visit the forest; you have chance to see many kinds of water birds (mostly stocks), colonies of bats and various rare animal and bird species.
Endowed with peace and tranquility, Tra Su forest will certainly become a unique and attractive attraction for travelers who love the natural beauty of Mekong Delta.

Back to our a/c comfortable vehicle, you will then continue your journey to Rach Gia. Check-in the hotel in the afternoon.

Spend the night in Rach Gia.

Day 5 Rach Gia – Phu Quoc (Breakfast)

Have breakfast at hotel, and 8:30 am vehicle transfer to Rach Gia pier for borading the ferry to  Phu Quoc island. 

Our vehice will pick you up and transfer to the resort in Phu Quoc for check in and spend your beach holidays.
